GPUG Amplify – Closing the Convergence Gap for GP Users

Posted by Armanino Dynamics Team

Earlier this year, we posted about the changes to Envision and what’s expected from this year’s Microsoft Dynamics related events. (See: Microsoft Convergence Gives Way to Envision – Armanino’s Perspective) All the changes Microsoft made to Convergence this year caused a shake up for Dynamics GP users. How would they get the training and future direction they’ve been accustomed to receiving at Convergence? The thought was that much of the training aspects from Convergence would be shifted to GPUG instead. However, the GPUG community pushed back wondering if perhaps that wouldn’t be enough. Convergence attendees had the best of both sides – training and strategic vision. Would GPUG be able to cover the vision side of the equation?

With these questions (and many more) in mind, Microsoft announced this week that another event would be added to the lineup this year: GPUG Amplify. Hosted in Anaheim May 23-25, the newly added conference will be a collaborative effort between GPUG and Microsoft. According to GPUG, Amplify will boast a “Convergence-like line-up of educational sessions including a deep-dive into Dynamics GP 2016, led by the Microsoft GP team.” For those seeking the future vision, lifecycle, and add-on solution opportunities for Dynamics GP, Amplify looks like it will be the right event. Amplify will also have better opportunities for connecting with partners and Microsoft representatives with the presence of the usual Expo and a Microsoft Support Helpdesk. Of course, for those looking for the more tactical training to get more out of their current GP system, GPUG Summit is still the place for that.
