Dynamics GP October 2019 Release: Part 4, System Enhancements

Posted by Steve Chapman

Here are the new Dynamics GP 2019 Release’s key changes in the System Enhancements category.

Support SQL 2019, Support Windows Server 2019, Support Office 2019

This Dynamics GP 2019 release is compatible with the stack components listed above. For users who want to keep current with the latest Microsoft technologies, this is great news.

SmartList Add Date Options

The SmartList Date Filter has been updated to include Prior Month, Next Month, Prior Period and Next Period.

If the user date in Dynamics GP is currently 11/02/2019, then the data displayed would be filtered for each option as shown:

Prior Month — All values from October 1 thru October 31

Next Month — All values from December 1 thru December 31

Prior Period — All values from the first day of the previous period through the last day of the previous period, based on the fiscal period setup

Next Period — All values from the first day of the next period through the last day of the next period, based on the fiscal period setup

Here’s a quick video that shows this in action:

There are also three new enhancements that will make the User Access Setup screen easier to use:

Sort Companies in User Access

When reviewing or assigning user access to various companies you might have in your GP system, you can sort the list by Company ID or Company Name. This will be helpful for organizations that have many companies in their system.

Search Options in User Access

There is a new search function in the User Access Setup screen that will allow you to easily find the companies you want to assign to a user.

Filter Inactive Users in User Access Setup

More Than 32 Report Options in Report Group

Last but not least, users can now add more than 32 report options to a report group. This is helpful if you have a lot of reports that you print regularly. You can create a group for them and then print the group instead of printing each report individually.

P.S.  If you are using GP 2015, note that support for it is ending in April 2020, so you should get updated to GP 2018 or newer.
